This illustration series is about how my home inspires me. My favorite elements about where I live all combined together. The hills, big open sky, the lakes, and the animals. The leaves represent all the beautiful trees that I love. We have some very large, old oaks down in our valley, and I can’t help but think about all the lives they have seen grow up around them.
Process
I wanted to try some (new to me) techniques. I utilized some watercolor and ink wash brushes to create these illustrations. I laid base shapes first to build the skeleton and establish the value, and then I went through and added texture with the brushes.
